Just out of curiosity

I found the first thread I ever started in BookCrossing. (I'm fairly sure it was the first - I remember feeling very brave at starting a whole new thread on my own.)

It was this , and it's interesting that just over half the people who replied to it are now on my friends list here :)

This one, from two years ago, was fun - it might be time to revive it!

I looked them up because I was thinking earlier of how I used to be so much in awe of certain BookCrossers when I was new to the Forum - and so pleased if they actually noticed me! (You know who you are...)

Heh - I remember that thread. Isn't that weird? I read your beginning entry and I thought, "Hmmm - I'm pretty sure I posted in this one."

3 years ago, hmm? Guess I've known you a while now, huh?

Psst - how did you find your post?

I tried to go back and find my first, but it only gave the last 1000. I can tell by the posts at the 'beginning' that I already knew people by that point.

Going back
I only managed it because I remembered that I had posted about the reunion, and did a search on that.
I wish there were a 'search by date' facility.

Have you read gods in Alabama by Joshilyn Jackson? I listened to it on audio CD. It's a great book. Anyway the narrator of the book plays What has it got in its pocketses? Every time I see that now I think of that book.

It's amazing to me how so many of the ones on the pedestals when I signed up for Bookcrossing are now on my friend list; seeing all these crossers unveiling their humanity on LJ has been a special experience.

Hmm, the good old days, i remember when i first joined BC i used to read the threads and think how much fun it would be to be part of that, but i was afraid no one would talk to me, yeah, i know, that's silly, you're all great people but as incredible as this may sound...i'm shy =P

Now i'm wondering what my first post was, lol, probably something about guys ;)

I was wondering ho you got back 3 years as well! I remember the second one and thought i might have posted in it but apparently not.

I too remember being so much in awe of people like Texas Wren, Antof9, Bookczuk, GoryDetails, Mojosmom and your goodself and had so much fun getting to know Spedbug, Skyring, Shadie, Deenbat, Buffra and the others and now they and quite a few more are on my LJ friends list too.

We have had such fun together that I could never imagine going back to life BBC.

Thank you for the memories, such fun

How lovely! The thread about the pockets should be revived! :-)
