Remembering a year ago

A year ago today, I was trying to make sense of the news reports which were coming in from London, and hoping and praying that the new friends I had met for the first time such a short time ago were safe.

I remember the feeling of relief as each of the Renegades checked in to the BookCrossing Forum, and how it helped to know that so many people around the world were focusing their thoughts and prayers on London.

Others were not so lucky, and today I will hold in my prayers those who lost a loved one or were injured in the bombings.

I just logged on to leave my own message and yours was the first I saw.

Isn't hard to believe that a year has gone and the world is still sometimes such a violent place to be.

I send my prayers and good wishes to all the world's citizens who have been touched by the hands of hatred and malice. May they find healing and peace and may the perpetrators and their families and supporters find another, non-violent way to get their message across.

To London and Londoners everywhere, we are thinking of you as you mark this painful first anniversary.

Yeah, it doesn't seem that far ago for me at all. And I also can remember waiting for all the Lodndon BookCrossers to log in and report they're still with us...

Lots of wings have been spread too
